Memorial Day May 31, 2010 marks the 23rd anniversary of the Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury. The scenic run is one of the oldest premier family runs through some of Kansas City’s most beautiful neighborhoods. The run was started in 1988 by friends of Amy Thompson, to honor her memory.

This year the 2010 Posthumous Honoree for the run is Jake Clough. Find out more about this special young man, and why his selection means so much to all those effected by brain injury.

Proceeds from the Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury benefit the Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City ( www.biaks.org ). They in turn, provide critical funding for prevention programming as well as information and direct support for individuals and their loved ones who face the ongoing trauma of brain injury. Since its inception the run has raised more than 1.5 million to help all people with brain injury.

Loose Park is where it all takes place! The run includes an 8K, a 2 mile run/walk and a Kiddie Dash. Courses are certified and chip timed. Enjoy, music, food and drink as you participate in a run that remains a Kansas City Memorial Day tradition.
