Loose Park Pavilion, 53rd and Wornall Road.  Parking is available on nearby side streets, St. Teresa's Academy and Pembroke Hill School.

Course Highlights
Classic Amy Thompson 8k Run (4.97 miles).  IMPROVED!  This scenic, timed run winds through neighborhoods around Loose Park and now includes beautiful Ward Parkway as part of this favorite event.  Redesigned by Eladio Valdez, coach of the Runner's Edge and designer of the KC Marathon course, this MARA Grand Prix Event has a time limit of 1 hour and 15 minutes.   It also offers a good walk opportunity for those who can keep a steady pace for 4.97 miles.  Timed course begins and ends at the Pavilion in Loose Park.

2 Mile Run -  NEW! 2 mile course replaces the previous 5K with a shorter, timed route around Loose Park, attractive to all classes of runners.  Jog, walk, skip or run this lovely course... either way, you'll have fun!  
*Are you a high school runner?  Compete in the High School Challenge on this two mile course.  See registration form or your coach for details.

Kiddie Dash- Children ages 1-8 can experience the thrill of victory on the grassy area between the Loose Park Pavilion and the Rose Garden.  All children receive an award.

Packet Pick-up
Packet pick-up and registration will take place near Gary Gribble's Running Sports in Ward Parkway Shopping Center, 8600 Ward Parkway, on Friday, May 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,Saturday, May 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 25 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

6:00 a.m. Run registration and packet pick-up begins
7:00 a.m.  Party begins with warm-up music by Mix 93.3 
7:30 a.m. 8 K run registration and packet pick-up wraps up 
8:00 a.m.  Classic 8K (TIMED COURSE-- 4.97 miles) Starts promptly.
8:20 a.m.  2 mile registration/packet pickup closes
8:45 a.m.  2 Mile run/jog/walk (TIMED COURSE).  Note new start time and distance.
9:30 a.m. Kiddie Dash, staged in grassy area between Pavilion and Rose Garden
9:45 Awards Ceremony  (*SEE BELOW FOR AWARD DETAILS)

*Both the 8K and the 2 Mile are USATF certified courses, featuring electronic timing by Race Day Timing Solutions.

Awards
Awards will be given for the Classic 8K, the 2 mile, wheelchair and Kiddie Dash.  Results will be available on www.resultsKC.com

CLASSIC 8K - Awards will be given to the top overall Male and Female and the top master (40+) Male and Female. 

The top three 8K finishers in each age division, male and female, will receive awards.  The first place finisher in each age division 20 years old and older will receive a free pair of Asics 1130, second and third place will also get an Asics prize. 
Age divisions are 10 and under,11-14, 15–19, 20–24,25-29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+ and wheelchair. The top 3 wheelchair racers, male and female, will receive awards.

2 MILE - The top 15 Male and Female finishers in the 2 mile will also receive an award. The top 3 wheelchair racers, male and female, will receive awards.
High School Challenge:  Top 5 high school boys and top
5 high school girls will receive special awards.  The top high school girl and boy will each win a traveling trophy for their schools.
