Course Highlights:
8K Run (4.97 miles)
Start: 8:00 am
Scenic, timed run winds through neighborhoods around Loose Park and on beautiful Ward Parkway.  Designed by Eladio Valdez, coach of the Runner’s Edge and designer of the KC Marathon course, this MARA Grand Prix Event has a time limit of 1 hour and 15 minutes.  It also offers a good walk opportunity for those who can keep a steady pace for 4.97 miles.  Timed course begins and ends at the Pavilion in Loose Park.

2 Mile Run

Start: 8:45 am
This shorter, timed course around Loose Park is attractive to all classes of runners.  Jog, walk, skip or run this lovely course….either way, you’ll have fun!

Kiddie Dash

Start: 9:30 am
Children ages 1-8 can experience the thrill of victory on the grassy area between the Loose Park Pavilion and the Rose Garden.  All children receive an award.

PACKET PICK-UP

Packet pick-up and registration will take place in Ward Parkway Shopping Center, 8600 Ward Parkway, on Friday, May 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 29 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 30 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and race day, at Loose Park Pavilion from 6:30 a.m. until 30 minutes prior to each event start time.

Late Registrants are not guaranteed a t-shirt or inclusion in race results.

8K – Awards will be given to the top overall Male and Female and the top master (40+) Male and Female.  The top three 8K finishers in each age division, male and female, will receive awards.  All age group winners will receive a medal.

The top 3 wheelchair racers, male ad female will receive awards.

2 MILE – The top 15 Male and Female finishers in the 2-mile will also receive an award. The top 3 wheelchair racers, male and female, will receive awards.

High School Challenge: Top 5 high school boys and top 5 high school girls will receive special awards. The top high school girl and boy will each win a traveling trophy for their schools.

KIDDIE DASH: All children in the Kiddie Dash receive an award.

RACE DAY SCHEDULE: (Be sure to note start times for both the 8K and 2-Mile)
6:30 a.m. – Late registration and packet pick-up begins.
7:30 a.m. – 8K late registration and packet pick-up ends.
8:00 a.m. – 8K timed course starts.
8:15 a.m. – 2-mile late registration and packet pick-up ends.
8:45 a.m. – 2-mile run/jog/walk timed course starts.
9:30 a.m. – Kiddie Dash in grassy area between Pavilion and Rose Garden begins.
9:45 a.m. – Awards Ceremony
Both the 8K and the 2 Mile are USATF certified courses, featuring electronic timing.
